Tennis : Lajovic beats Sonego in straight sets to reach semis in Monte-Carlo

Serbia's Dusan Lajovic reached his first ATP Masters semi-finals after beating Italian Lorenzo Sonego 6-4, 7-5 in the Monte-Carlo Masters. The unseeded Serb had upset the fourth seed Dominic Thiem of Austria 6-3, 6-3 in the third round on Thursday, and carried that momentum to beat Sonego.Lajovic saved one set point in the second set against the Italian before completing his 10th tour level victory of the season. It took him one hour and 47 minutes to book a spot against Russian Daniil Medvedev, who stunned the world number one, Novak Djokovic, with 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 victory on Friday.
