Seventh seed Dominic Thiem took on thirteenth seed Milos Raonic at the Indian Wells Masters on Saturday as both players were looking to book their place in Sunday's final. Austrian Thiem took the opening set via a 7-3 tie break, producing no unforced errors. However, Raonic levelled the match by winning a second set tie break, helped by the net cord to give him the mini-break. The decisive break came in the final set as Thiem, who has struggled for form this year, produced a match point on his serve. However a deep forehand from Raonic ensured Thiem fired his return into the net. A second match point for the 25-year-old shortly followed, making no mistake this time as he secured his first win over Raonic to book his place in the final. He will face five-time winner Roger Federer who advanced to the final after Rafael Nadal withdrew with a knee injury earlier in the day. It will be the fifth meeting between the pair with both men having won two matches apiece.
