Tennis: Karolina Pliskova beats Alison Riske in two tie-break sets in Dubai Tennis Championships

Czech Karolina Pliskova edged past American Alison Riske 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-5) in the second round of the Dubai Tennis Championships in the United Arab Emirates. The first set went with serve, but the Czech fourth seed got the upper hand in the ensuing tie-break to claim the set. The pair then exchanged breaks in the second set, and Pliskova was able to once again hold ground until a double fault saw her win the match in just over two hours. She will next face Su-Wei Hsieh in the third round, after the Taiwanese player dispatched fifth Angelique Kerber in the second round
