Sports News: Trouble mounts for Chandigarh Olympic Association over affiliations

The Chandigarh Olympic Association has suffered another blow as Hockey India approved the Hockey Chandigarh as its only allied unit. The COA had granted affiliation to the Field Hockey Chandigarh, instead of the Hockey Chandigarh, to allegedly secure their votes. This is not the first time COA had to face embarrassment. The Rowing Federation of India has a similar story as the federation had sent a letter to COA approving the Chandigarh Rowing Association (CRA) as its affiliated unit. The CRA is also one of the bodies not affiliated to the COA but the national association. According to the president of Chandigarh Basketball Association (CBA) and secretary of Basketball Federation of India, there are many such associations affiliated to the COA which are totally illegal and defunct.
