Sports News: Chandigarh Rowing Association got defunct in 2017, says COA

The question over whether the Chandigarh Rowing Association is affiliated or disaffiliated is buried under several folds of mystery and debates regarding the same has time and again come under light but there has been no conclusion so far. Last month, president of Rowing Federation of India Ms. Rajlaxmi Singh Deo had written to the Indian Olympic Association and requested them to intervene and direct the Chandigarh Olympic Association to include the Chandigarh Rowing Association (CRA) in its coming meeting and elections. The COA had disaffiliated CRA and affiliated Rowing and Sweep Association, which has voting rights in the COA. As of now both Rowing & Sweep Association and CRA are indulged in a ‘cold war’ in order to be in the driving seat of local rowing.
