The Volleyball Federation of India has lost a legal suit against Baseline Ventures and has been ordered to pay Rs 4 crores as compensation and five lakhs as legal fees after the court of law adjudged that the national federation had wrongfully terminated the organization’s contract for conducting the Pro Volleyball League. The court has also ordered VFI to pay an additional 12% interest from the date of commencement of arbitral proceedings till the date of payment that amounts to approximately an additional Rs. 45 lakhs in interest payment as of now. VFI and Baseline Ventures had signed a ten-year contract to conduct the league and the duo later went into disputes.
