Tennis: Kvitova beats Kontaveit in the Stuttgart Grand Prix final

Petra Kvitova beat Anett Kontaveit 6-3, 7-6 to lift the WTA Stuttgart Open for the first time in her career. Victory saw Kvitova claim her second title in 2019 following victory at the Sydney International in January. The third-seeded Kvitova also exacted some revenge over Kontaveit who dumped her out of the Brisbane International in the second round at the start of the year. Kvitova grew into the game after saving two break points in the very first game of the match. That set the tone for a closely-fought encounter which the Czech star eventually won in 1 hour and 30 minutes after saving a set point for Kontaveit in the second.
