Tennis: Kvitova beats Bertens to reach Stuttgart final

Petra Kvitova advanced to the final of the Stuttgart Open following a three-set win over Kiki Bertens. Kvitova secured a 7-6 (7-3), 3-6, 6-1 win to set-up a final against Anett Kontaveit on Sunday. It was a case of third time lucky for Kvitova in the semis in Stuttgart following two losses at this stage in 2012 and 2016 against the eventual champions, Sharapova and Kerber, respectively. Kontaveit was given a by into the final after Naomi Osaka pulled out of her semi-final with an abdominal injury. Kvitova will be hoping for revenge over Kontaveit after she lost their last meeting at the Brisbane International in January.
