Football News: Inter Miami make unique Lionel Messi offer?

Inter Miami is apparently willing to offer PSG striker Lionel Messi an equity part in the team in order to entice him to join the club. Messi's PSG contract is slated to expire at the conclusion of the season; therefore, his future is now the subject of much debate.

A recent rumour stated that the Argentine was considering leaving in the summer. However, his representatives have since dismissed those speculations.

His Ex-Club Barcelona have also been connected with a move for Lionel Messi this summer. Meanwhile, Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia is said to have offered Messi a lucrative contract.

Moreover, Inter Miami, owned by David Beckham, has also been mentioned as a possible destination. Thus, they appear to be ratcheting up their efforts to bring Messi stateside.

According to the Independent, they are willing to offer Messi an equity part in the team in order to get him to join the MLS. However, as per the sources, the Argentina international wants to stay in Europe until the Copa America in 2024.

Messi is also hesitant to sign a new contract with PSG unless he is assured of their potential to fight for the Champions League trophy. The manager's status is in doubt, with current coach Christophe Galtier under fire for recent results and the club's Champions League last-16 loss.

In order to comply with Financial Fair Play laws, the Parisians may need to offload players during the summer transfer window.

Barcelona might provide Messi with an alternative way to stay in Europe, but the Catalan giants have apparently made no formal contact with the attacker.

Messi's father, Jorge Messi, and Barcelona president Joan Laporta met in February to arrange a tribute match rather than a return for the 35-year-old.

Barcelona manager Xavi is said to have regular contact with Messi, but the club's financial situation may stymie any ambitions of re-signing the World Cup winner.

Messi has appeared in 33 games for PSG this season, scoring 18 goals and assisting on 17 others.
