Two-time Olympian Manoj Kumar has accused Sports Authority of India of not providing financial assistance for treatment of his injury. In a letter on Monday to sports minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, the two-time Commonwealth Games medallist’s coach and elder brother Rajesh Kumar requested that steps be taken so that the boxer receives immediate treatment. Manoj, who has been diagnosed with a stress fracture in his left hip joint, says the injury first flared up at the Asian Games last year. After coming back from the Asian Games they discussed this issue with the SAI. He was referred at Mumbai’s Kokilaben hospital late September, and the total expenditure came out to be Rs 5,30,400. The information was given to the SAI and till now the treatment hasn’t been done because the funds were not released. Moreover, Manoj was dropped from the list of boxers from the training camp at the NIS centre in Patiala
