When one thinks of Indian boxing, one name which stands out is Vijender Singh. In 2008 the boxer from Haryana gave India its first Olympic medal in boxing at Beijing Olympics. After an impressive Amateur career which includes Vijender winning medals in the Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and World Championships, he made a foray into professional boxing by turning pro in 2015 and is currently undefeated in his pro career fighting across India and the United Kingdom. His current pro record stands at 10-0 which includes 7 knockouts. He is now all set to make his US debut in 2019 and is likely to face the multiple-time world champion in two weight classes, Mexican Canelo Alvarez, as early as February-March next year. The venue, which Vijender has been pushing for his debut bout in the USA, is the famous Madison Square Garden in New York. Power Sportz caught up with him in an exclusive chat.
