Basketball: Crvena Zvezda survive scare to beat Panathinaikos 74-71

Crvena Zvezda survived a last-minute fight to defeat Panathinaikos 74-71 in their EuroLeague clash in Belgrade on Wednesday. Despite a slow start, Crvena Zvezda controlled much of the match, leading at every break. However, the visitors were able to fight their way back into the contest in the final quarter and drew level thanks to a long three-pointer from Ioannis Papapetrou in the final minute. Crvena Zvezda pulled away again, but Papapetrou managed to hit another three as the clock wound down to draw Panathinaikos within a point. Needing a stop on the inbound pass, Dejan Davidovac was fouled and made both free throws to give Crvena Zvezda a three-point buffer, which they held to the buzzer. Corey Walden top-scored for Crvena Zvezda with 17 points, while Quino Colom added 13 and Ognjen Dobric shot 11.
