Tennis: Venus Williams defeats Dalila Jakupovic in Miami Open first round

Playing the tournament for a record 20th time, 38-year-old Venus Williams made the second round of the Miami Open after defeating Dalila Jakupovic on Thursday. Unseeded for the first time since 2012, Williams was pushed hard in the first set by the 27-year-old Slovenian. The world number 43 came through 7-5 - and did not encounter quite so many problems in the second, taking it 6-3. Next up for Williams - a meeting with Carla Suarez Navarro.
