Indian Wells champion Bianca Andreescu staged a remarkable recovery to defeat Irina-Camelia Begu on Thursday and reach the second round of the Miami Open. The 18-year-old Canadian has rocketed from outside the top 150 at the start of the year to 24th in the rankings but looked to be suffering a setback when she trailed Romanian Begu by a set and 5-1. Instead, Andreescu won 12 of the next 15 games to take the match 4-6 7-6 (7/2) 6-2.
