Scotland's Connor Syme held firm to retain his lead at the Wales Open on Friday. The 25-year-old, who only returned to the European Tour this year after losing his card for 2019, shot a one-under-par round of 70 to go six under for the tournament. Syme is two shots clear of a six-player chasing pack which includes joint first-round leader Jordan Smith and Li Haotong, who had the best round of the day with a five-under-par 66.
