Football News : Cristiano Ronaldo to discuss his Man United future with Erik ten Hag

The Ronaldo-exit saga is now going on for a while now and the Red Devils fan are divided in their thoughts about letting Ronaldo go.

At the first place every United fan thought that the Ronaldo-united combination will be the first step in bring back their glory days back at Old Trafford. However, as per the reports in England Mr. no.7 is desperate to make a move away from the club this summer.

Cristiano Ronaldo will meet with Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, on Tuesday to talk about his future with the team. The 37-year-old Portuguese forward was absent from United's preseason tour of Thailand and Australia due to personal matters.

Moreover, as per the recent reports Mr. no. 7 wants to quit the club this summer. The former Real Madrid star striker has returned to Manchester but has not yet trained with the team.

Meanwhile, earlier this month the United boss told the press that Ronaldo is "in our plans" and "not for sale,"

Ten Hag said he spoke to Ronaldo before the tour, explaining:

"I had a good talk. That is between Cristiano and me. What I can confirm is we had a really good conversation together."

Ronaldo skipped the club's return to preseason training at Carrington, and his absence from the tour fueled rumours about his future. Instead, he practised at the headquarters of the Portuguese national team.

Ronaldo finished third in the Premier League and was United's top scorer last season, but the club's overall performance was viewed as a major let down. While United's sixth-place result in the Premier League prevented them from qualifying for the Champions League.

As a result of which Ronaldo, who has one year and one extra year left on his contract with United, will play in the Europa League for the first time.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner does not find it particularly enjoyable and believes that at this point in his career, there may be more alluring possibilities available to him.

The midfielder had been linked to both Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich before Chelsea abandoned their pursuit of him earlier this month.

It is thought that Ronaldo is not viewed as a player who is for sale by United.

Prior to playing Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford on Sunday, United play Atletico Madrid on Saturday in Norway.

On Sunday, August 7, they will host Brighton in their opening match of the new campaign.
