Football News: Saudi club Al-Hilal express interest in Liverpool's Luis Diaz

Al-Hilal of the Saudi Pro League is reportedly interested in signing Liverpool forward Luis Diaz.

Al-Hilal are just one of several Saudi Arabian clubs that have spent over £100 million on three acquisitions this summer.

Ruben Neves and Kalidou Koulibaly joined from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Chelsea, respectively, while Sergej Milinkovic-Savic joined Al-Hilal after leaving Lazio.

Al-Hilal, one of four Saudi Pro League teams funded by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), is looking to bolster their lineup.

They have already had two bids for Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic rejected, as well as a £18 million proposal for Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez rejected.

According to The Guardian, Al-Hilal has discovered another prospective target in Diaz and is planning to approach him.

According to the source, Liverpool has no plans to sell the Colombia international, who has four years left on his present contract.

Diaz has scored 11 goals and registered eight assists in 47 appearances since joining the Reds from Porto in January 2022.

The 26-year-old, who has 39 caps for Colombia, missed six months of the 2022-23 season due to a major knee injury.

Diaz is the latest Liverpool player to be linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, following midfielders Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.

Liverpool have left Fabinho out of their pre-season training camp in Germany as they consider whether to accept a £40 million offer from Al-Ittihad.

Meanwhile, new Al-Ettifaq manager Steven Gerrard is eager to bring former Liverpool teammate Henderson to Saudi Arabia.

Henderson is said to be open to the transfer, but the Reds are unwilling to let their captain leave on a cheap contract.
It looks like Saudi clubs are all over Liverpool this season.
