According to reports, Chelsea's owners would not think about firing Graham Potter as the team's head coach and have no regrets about their choice. Early in September, Thomas Tuchel was fired and replaced by Potter, the manager of Brighton & Hove Albion, in a little more than 24 hours.
With Potter leading a comeback in the Champions League to secure qualifying for the knockout rounds with a match to spare, the 47-year-old first began with a nine-match unbeaten run.
Four losses have been tallied in five games, though, since the Blues put up arguably their most spirited effort under Potter at Red Bull Salzburg. Three of those defeats came on the road, with the third of those games taking place in the EFL Cup, and they came against Arsenal, Manchester City, and Newcastle United-all three of which are opponents of Potter's old club.
Nevertheless, social media users have been demanding for another change in the dugout after Chelsea went three games without scoring. The Athletic claims that there is little chance of that occurring because Chelsea's owners are 'unwavering' in their backing of their head coach.
According to the article, club executives decided to reassure Potter that they had not considered breaking up with him after just a little over two months.
Chelsea is now in eighth place in the Premier League rankings, eight points behind fourth-place Tottenham Hotspur, when this purported stance was made.
The West Londoners haven't won in the Premier League since defeating Aston Villa on October 16. The matches after that victory in the West Midlands ended in draws with Brentford and Manchester United.
Potter has also had to deal with multiple crucial player injuries during a period of 13 games between October 1 and November 12, eight of which were played away from Stamford Bridge.
Wesley Fofana was out with a knee injury on October 5; N'Golo Kante's anticipated return from a hamstring injury was postponed due to the need for surgery; and Reece James suffered a knee injury away at AC Milan less than a week later.
Due to a serious hamstring injury, Ben Chilwell has missed the last three games. Kepa Arrizabalaga and KalidouKoulibaly have also missed time with the team.
