Cycling: Virtual Tour de France's second stage won by Bernard

Frenchman Julien Bernard won the second stage of the Virtual Tour de France on Sunday, while Lauren Stephens of the USA took the honours in the women's race. The race, which is being held over three consecutive weekends, sees professional riders from all over the world competing via the Zwift online cycle training programme. On stage two the field would cover a 29.5km circuit, with two climbs en route. Bernard used a power-up to great effect in the sprint finish, surging passed Freddy Ovett and Michael Woods in the final metres. It was a similar story in the women's race, where Stephens battled to stay in contention before deploying a late power-up to pass Joscelin Lowden and Erica Magnaldi.
