Punjab humiliated Kolkata by 8 wickets in Sharjah as the KL Rahul led side registered their fifth consecutive win to keep their hopes of play-offs qualification alive. Opting to bowl after winning the toss Punjab restricted Kolkata to a modest total of 149/9 wickets in 20 overs. Punjab bowlers Mohammad Shami bagged three wickets while Chris Jordan and Ravi Bishnoi bagged 2 wickets each. Kolkata opener Shubman Gill and their skipper Eoin Morgan contributed with valuable 57 and 40 runs respectively. Morgan and Gill were involved in a crucial 81-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Chasing 150-run target Punjab team rode on opener Mandeep Singh's unbeaten 66 and Chris Gayle's 29-ball 51 to comfortably chase down the target in just 18.5 overs.
