Maria Sakkari defeated Iga Swiatek in a tough 6-4 7-5 semi-final at the Ostrava Open in Ostrava, Czech Republic on Saturday. The Greek broke Swiatek in the opening game and held her immediate advantage throughout to take the set. But Swiatek fought back in the second to almost force a decider before Sakkari was able to rally and close out the match.
