Garbine Muguruza outclassed Kiki Bertens in the fourth round at Indian Wells on Tuesday, beating her 5-7, 6-1, 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals. The pair had two breaks apiece in the first set but a determined Bertens broke in the 12th game to take the set in an hour and ten minutes. Muguruza was not ready to give up and responded swiftly in the second with three breaks to make it a set each. Bertens broke first in the third set, but Muguruza fought back with two break in the fourth and 10th games to wrap up the match in two hours and 27 minutes. Next up for Muguruza will be Canadian Bianca Vanessa Andreescu, who beat Qiang Wang in straight sets to reach the quarter-finals.
