Australian teenager Alex de Minaur won his first ATP Tour title after beating Andreas Seppi of Italy 7-5, 7-6(5) on home soil in the final of the Sydney International. The 19 year-old world number 29 had to do it the hard way - his semi-final against Gilles Simon had to be played earlier in the day after heavy rain on Friday evening forced it to be postponed. De Minaur showed little sign of fatigue against and Seppi though and made up for his defeat in the Sydney final last year, when he lost in three sets to Russia's Daniil Medvedev. De Minaur, who didn't drop a set throughout the tournament, will not have much time to enjoy his success - he now has to fly off to Melbourne for his first round match at the Australian Open on Monday against Portugal's Pedro Sousa.
