Tennis : Kenin routs Karolina 6-3, 6-0 in Hobart final for 1st WTA singles title

It was a big day for American Sofia Kenin. She registered a dominant win over Anna Karolina in the final and become Hobart International champion. The 20-year-old won her first WTA singles title in the process, beating Karolina 6-3, 6-0 in a 71-minute final. The Number 77-ranked Karolina started strongly, firing a forehand winner in the opening point. She earned three break points on the Kenin serve in the fourth game, but couldn't convert. Kenin, currently 56th in the world rankings, won her first WTA doubles title in Auckland last week and is now projected to break into the world's top 40 in singles after this week.
