Joel Chianese was fouled in the penalty area - and Neil Kikenny converted the spot kick. Jason Davidson doubled Perth's lead in the 25th minute. Newcastle dominated play in the second half but were unable to find the net. Another three points means Tony Popovic's side have 20 points after eight rounds.
