Antoine Griezmann is apparently the subject of a proposal from Manchester United worth €60 million (£52.5 million). After terminating Cristiano Ronaldo's contract at the end of November, the Red Devils are generally anticipated to recruit a new forward during the January transfer window.
The 20-time English champions are rumoured to have explored signing Griezmann while he was still playing for Real Sociedad, and a transfer to Old Trafford has long been associated with the Frenchman.
At the 2022 World Cup, the 31-year-old was in superb form for France, contributing three assists in seven games as the Blues advanced to the final before falling to Argentina on penalties.
Griezmann was only permanently re-signed by Atletico from Barcelona in October, and his deal is set to last until June 2026. However, there have been recent rumours regarding his future due to Atletico's financial issues brought on by their failure to advance past the group stage of the Champions League.
The Frenchman is seen by the Red Devils as the ideal Ronaldo successor, and they have already made him a €60 million (£52.5 million) bid with the intention of perhaps signing him in January, according to Fichajes.
According to the source, Diego Simeone's team does not currently intend to allow him to depart, but if Man United ups their offer, thus, now the club may be persuaded sell him.
Throughout the 2022-23 season, Griezmann has made 21 appearances for Atletico, with six goals and five assists. The forward began his professional career with Real Sociedad, playing for the Basque team from 2009 until 2014 before moving on to Atletico, where he spent his first five seasons.
Between 2019 to 2022, Griezmann played for Barcelona, although he struggled to make an impact at Camp Nou, returning to the Red and Whites on loan before securing a permanent return.
He made 314 games over his two stints at Atletico, scoring 147 goals and dishing out 62 assists while winning the Spanish Super Cup, Europa League, and UEFA Super Cup and making it all the way to the Champions League final.
Man United may also sign a new right-back during the January transfer window in addition to a striker, as Aaron Wan-Bissaka is anticipated to leave before the market closes.
