Football News: Liverpool to battle with Manchester United for Djordje Petrovic

Liverpool are set to rival Manchester United for signatures of MLS star goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic.Petrovic moved to the US in April 2022 after playing 86 times in competitive matches for Cukaricki of Serbia.

Petrovic started out his tenure with New England Revolution on the sidelines,but after making his professional debut in June of last year, he quickly rose to become the team's starting goalkeeper.

Even if the Spaniard stays at Old Trafford, Tom Heaton's current contract only lasts until Juneand when Jack Butland's loan agreement expires, he will likely return to Crystal Palace.

Moreover, loanee Dean Henderson is anticipated to leave United during the summer transfer window.Thus, the Old Trafford club is in search of signing a new goalkeeper this summer.

However, Man United might have competition from one of their Premier League opponents if they opt to pursue Petrovic.
