Football News: Jude Bellingham to decide upon his future in next two weeks

During the upcoming international break, Jude Bellingham will allegedly meet with Borussia Dortmund to discuss his future. The 19-year-old England international is expected to rank among the most in-demand midfielders in Europe this summer.

Bellingham has grown into a prominent player since moving to Dortmund from his previous club Birmingham City in 2020. In 123 appearances across all competitions, he has scored 20 goals and registered 24 assists.

Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea, of Premier League are all said to be interested in Jude. While the Reds are looking much more confident about winning the race for his signature.

But the Spanish giants Real Madrid are hoping to lure him to the Santiago Bernabeu. Moreover, the current European champions are rumoured to have made the first contact with players" agent.

Bellinghamis valued at €150 million (£133.1 million) by the Bundesliga club. The Englishman is a key player of BvB and has a contract at Westfalenstadion through June 2025.

The teenager is believed to be ready to make a move on after nearly three seasons in Germany. However, Dortmund have no desire to sell him and wants to keep him at the club by offering him a new long-term contract.

Bellingham and his representation are scheduled to meet with Dortmund executives during the break to talk about his future at the club, according to Bild via OneFootball.

According to the source, he will reveal whether he wants to leave this summer or stay for at least another season. Dortmund believes that their chances of holding of their star player are now 50/50.

Bellingham's annual pay of €6m (£5.2m) is likely to climb dramatically if he decides to stay at Dortmund and sign a new contract.

Sebastian Kehl, the Sporting director at Dortmund, is still optimistic that Bellingham will stay for at least another season, although he has acknowledged that it might just be "wishful thinking."

Speaking to Ruhr Nachrichten about Bellingham's future, Kehl said:

"Of course we're trying to keep Jude Bellingham at Borussia Dortmund as long as possible. He's an incredibly important player who has shown once again this season how he identifies with this club and makes the team better."

"Things develop due to market mechanisms. So of course, I have my thoughts and also have my wishful thinking. I can't say whether [Bellingham staying] will happen in the end. From Borussia Dortmund's point of view, the wishful thinking would be to keep a player of this quality at this club for as long as possible."

"We will always try everything to keep players of this quality at BVB - because we are ambitious, because we want to win titles. For this, we need not only good but outstanding players."

During this month's Euro 2024 qualifiers against Italy and Ukraine, Bellingham, who has 22 caps for England, is anticipated to be included to Gareth Southgate's Three Lions side.
