Newly-crowned Portuguese champions Sporting suffered their first defeat of the season, going down 4-3 away to Benfica in the Lisbon derby on Saturday. The champions were stunned as their hosts took a 3-0 lead after 36 minutes before responding in added time at the end of the first half. Benfica were quick to add to their lead early in the second half before two goals from Sporting produced a tense finish.
