Bahrain's Malikya went top of Group C in the AFC Cup on Monday after beating Kuwait's Al Qadsia 2-1 away. Sayed Hashim put the visitors ahead on 42 minutes from long range to separate the teams going into the break. Qadsia levelled matters in controversial circumstances from the spot in the 70th minute through Yousef Al Salman. Captain Bader Al Mutawa was fouled outside the box but the referee thought it happened inside instead. Still, the parity lasted barely two minutes with Sayed getting his second of the night from close range. With the win, Malkiya moved on to seven points, two ahead of Lebanon's Al Ahed at the halfway mark of the group stage.
