An 89th-minute equaliser by Elkeson gave Shanghai SIPG a 3-3 draw away to Sydney FC in their AFC Champions League Group H fixture in Sydney. Sydney went ahead in the third minute through Siem de Jong, but the teams were level again when Shanghai's Lu Wenjun buried a header in the 27th. A Adam Le Fondre penalty gave Sydney back the lead at the half-hour mark, then Shanghai's Yu Hai scored in the 36th minute to send the game to half-time deadlocked at 2-2. Sydney were set to claim their first group win after Alex Brosque put the Sky Blues back in front on 84 minutes, but Elkeson's strike seconds from stoppage time denied the hosts all three points.
