Brighton and Hove Albion held out for a 2-1 win over Championship (second tier of English football) side Derby County to reach the FA (Football Association) Cup quarter-finals. First-half goals from Anthony Knockaert and Jurgen Locadia put Brighton firmly in control of the tie. But Derby, who had twice come from 2-0 down earlier in the competition, pulled one back through former England full-back and seven-time FA Cup winner Ashley Cole in the 81st minute - his first goal in England since 2012 and his first-ever in the competition. In a nervy end to the match, Brighton then survived a late scare in stoppage time when an error from goalkeeper David Button almost drew Derby level. However the hosts held on for the win and progressed to the last eight for the fourth time in their history - and for a second season in a row.
