Football: Al Sadd beat Al Rayyan 4-0 to go four points clear in the Qatar Stars League

Al Sadd moved four points clear at the top of the Qatar Stars League following a 4-0 away win over Al Rayyan. Hishame Zahid's Al Sadd side kicked off after second-placed Al Duhail had earlier been held to a goalless draw by Al Gharafa. The visitors were clearly buoyed by that result and shortly after the half-hour mark they took the lead through Baghdad Bounedjah. Just two minutes later, they were two up through Abdelkarim Hassan's header. Forward Akram Afif struck twice in ten minutes midway through the second half, with his first goal coming from the penalty spot. Both sides lost players to red cards with Sebastian Soria and Gabi sent off by referee Khamis Mohamed Al Kuwari. Al Sadd now have 44 points in top spot, while Al Rayyan, on 30 points, dropped to fourth.
