Cycling: Marco Benfatto wins the opening stage of Tour of China II

Italian Marco Benfatto won the opening stage of the Tour of China II on Tuesday following a sprint finish. Benfatto completed the 141.3 kilomoetre race from Hewan to Jianghua in 3 hours 13 minutes, 53 seconds, crossing the finish line narrowly ahead of a chasing pack that included second-placed Youcef Reguigui of Algeria and fellow Italian compatriot Nicolas Marini.
