Slovenian rider Primoz Roglic is set to triumph at the Vuelta a Espana after he retained the leader's red jersey, with his countryman Tadej Pogcar winning the mountainous stage 20. The 29-year-old will earn a maiden Grand Tour victory and be the first Slovenian to do so, barring a crash in Sunday's final processional stage which concludes in the centre of Madrid. Roglic finished fifth in the gruelling 190km stage from Arenas de San Pedro to Plataforma de Gredos, just nine seconds behind his main rival, Spaniard Alejandro Valverde, who looks set to finish as the overall runner-up. The Team Jumbo-Visma rider holds a two-minute 33 second lead over Valverde, with Pogcar virtually guaranteed the third place on the podium.
