Cricket News: Teen sensation Rasikh Salam Dar speaks exclusively to PS

The 17-year old pacer who hails from Ashmuji area of District Kulgam, Rasikh Salaam Dar has become the latest entrant from J&K in the elite list to make it to the India Premier League. He was grabbed by Mumbai Indians for the base price of Rupees 20 lakhs in the IPL player’s auction held in Jaipur. Prior to the auction there was a talk that Mumbai franchise who had last month called him for the selection trials would go for him. Rasikh is currently part of J&K Under-19 team for Cooch Behar Trophy. He was shortlisted for the talent hunt trial under Irfan Pathan and from there on, there was no looking back for the youngster. Pathan in a first look saw something special in him and shortlisted him instantly. He was first given a chance in practice matches at Sheri-Kashmir cricket stadium where he impressed everyone. He even went on to take a brilliant hat-trick. Under the guidance of Pathan and Parvez Rasool, Rasikh also went on to play for J&K senior team in Vijay Hazare Trophy one-day tournament.
