Cricket News: Indian pacer to make a comeback from the injury in IPL 2023

The Indian seamer and bowling all-rounder Deepak Chahar is expected to return from injury in IPL 2023. CSK will be pleased to welcome Deepak back in the squad when the season begins on 31st March. The 30-year-old was sidelined from professional cricket for six months in 2022 because of to two significant injuries. The Agra-born player had trouble recovering from a stress fracture and a quad grade 3 rupture most recently. In December 2022, he made his final appearance for India in the second ODI against Bangladesh before getting hurt after bowling three overs. In spite of playing 15 times for India in 2022, Chahar missed the T20 World Cup owing to an injury. Currently, the Men in Blues’ pace all-rounder is working his way back to full fitness and is getting himself ready for the upcoming IPL season.After undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, he will now be joining the Chennai Super Kings squad soon. Chahar was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo "I have been working hard for the past two three months on my fitness.” The 30-year-old further added saying “I am fully fit and preparing well for the IPL.” "I had two big injures. One was a stress fracture and one was a quad grade 3 tear. They are both very big injuries. You are out for months. Anyone who comes back after the injury it takes time, especially for the fast bowlers. If I was a batter, I would be playing way back, but as a fast bowler, when you have a stress fracture, it is very tough to get back on track. You can see other bowlers struggling with the back as well,” Said Deepak. Last month, Chahar played in his sole Ranji Trophy match, a First-Class match against Services, to commemorate his return to competitive cricket. Chahar has struggled with injuries throughout his career, which has prevented him from securing a spot on the National squad. He hopes to make the team, nevertheless, for the ODI World Cup later in 2023. "I have lived by one rule all my life. If I am fully bowling the way I want, if I am batting the way I want, there is no stopping me. That was the basic rule with which I started my career. I don't care who is playing, who is not playing, my motive is to get fully fit and perform with the ball and bat 100%. If I do that, I will get my chances,” he further said. Meanwhile, Women's Premier League will hold its maiden season before the Men’s 16th edition begins. Chahar also expressed his excitement for it by saying "IPL changed men's cricket forever, people got a lot of opportunities. Same thing will happen with Women's Premier League. Women's cricket will grow very fast as they will face international players very early in their careers.
