Cricket News : India meets an injury scare for Rohit Sharma ahead of the semi-final against England

India's optional training session, which was supposed to be uneventful, ended up being chaotic due to injury concerns for their skipper Rohit Sharma.

When facing throw downs from one of the three specialists that India employs, Rohit was struck in the forearm, showed signs of pain, and quit trying to bat. However, the session was nonetheless successful thanks to a solid hit that did start off cautiously.

Due to the great pace that the dog-thrower produces, Indian hitters enjoy batting against it since it helps them get ready for fast bowling in the middle overs.

They attribute their better reaction times to high tempo to these throwdowns. But this specific ball simply snuck back in and struck Rohit in the right forearm. From the way Rohit initially responded, it appeared to be a hard blow.

He appeared to be in discomfort, and help arrived right away. The Indian skipper put on his gloves again to check on the hand's condition after around five minutes, but he only played one ball before leaving.

Rohit was sitting on the side lines with a sizable ice pack on his arm. He had a lengthy conversation with Paddy Upton, a mental fitness instructor. The throwdown expert, D Raghavendra, was distressed. However, Rohit returned to the nets a good 45 minutes or so later. To regain the feeling in his arm, he cautiously began by merely defending a few simple throwdowns. He then continued to bat normally. even in throwdowns with Raghavendra.

The conversation Rohit and Raghavendra had at the end of the session seemed to reassure the support staff member. There is little reason for concern regarding Rohit because there is still one training session left until the semifinal versus England.

The time Dinesh Karthik spent batting during the optional session was also fascinating. Only he and Hardik Pandya of the group decided to take advantage of the training session.

Karthik was not used in India's last league game because the team preferred to give Rishabh Pant sometime in the middle, particularly in light of the remaining spinners in the competition. Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, and Adil Rashid are five of the six remaining spinners who remove the ball from right-handed batsmen. In light of this, there have been some considerations over keeping Pant prepared in case India decides to play him. In the past, India has elevated Axar Patel in an effort to establish a right-left combination when spinners are in action.
Karthik is the only specialist batter India has who can just stroll in and score immediately, so if they choose Pant, they may have to move Hardik Pandya to No. 6 in the order. Pandya used to fill that role for the Mumbai Indians, but this season he has been acting more like a middle-order hitter who bats in the lengthy innings and prefers to get in early.

India might face Moeen Ali, an offspinner, in the semifinals as well. That slightly tips the scales in Karthik's favour. The management of the Indian squad did clarify that Karthik's inclusion in the final game did not imply Pant's disfavour. His long hit might imply that he is seriously considered for England.
