Cricket News: ICC meeting to finalize the nomination process for next chairman

The ICC office-bearers and members will meet today to finalize the nomination process to select the next ICC Chairman. The entire process irrespective of whether it is an election or unanimous selection will take place in four weeks time. A 2/3rd majority is required among 17 board members comprising 12 Test playing nations, three associate nations Malaysia, Scotland, Singapore, chairman and an independent director. Former ECB head Colin Graves is the frontrunner to become Shashank Manohar's successor while former Cricket West Indies boss Dave Cameron has also claimed that he has the numbers to contest the polls even though his own Cricket board is against him. Sourav Ganguly is the most popular name doing the rounds as of now. It will be interesting to see if BCCI wants him at the global body. Also Ganguly's cooling off waiver plea is lying with the Supreme Court. The next date of the hearing is August 17.
