Cricket Australia has recalled off-spinner Nathan Lyon along with experienced batsman Usman Khawaja and pacer Peter Siddle in the 14-man squad for the 3-match One-Day International series against India starting January 12. Khawaja has made a comeback to the ODI squad after a gap of two years. The selectors axed Travis Head, Chris Lynn, D'Arcy Short, Ben McDermott and all-rounder Ashton Agar after their poor run in the limited over's format and series against South Africa. Pace trio of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins are rested for the series to prepare for the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka whereas Nathan Coulter-Nile misses out due to some lower back soreness. National selector Trevor Hohns said that the squad has been selected with an eye on the 2019 World Cup.
