Chief national badminton coach Pullella Gopichand has praised the Sports Authority of India and Indian Government contribution towards the game but at the same time has said that they have a lack of knowledge when it comes to the sport. At the same time he said that the aura Badminton has seen a strong shift post Rio Olympics 2016. Gopichand has said that he is little worried about the future of badminton in India saying that along with the younger lot the country also require more and more coaches to continue the legacy which has been maintained through a lot of hard work. Insisting for a structured model, Gopichand said that he don’t think future is sustainable if multiple people will be controlling the sport.
