In Women's doubles, Indian pair of Aparna Balan and Sruthi KP beat Hong Kong's NG Wing Yung and Yeung Ting in a hard fought 3-game encounter that lasted for 50 minutes to enter the quarter-finals. Aparna Balan and Sruthi KP won the opening game and then went on to lose the second game. After trailing initially in the 3rd game, they made a strong comeback to win the match and enter the quarter-finals. The see-saw battles saw Indian pair winning the match 21-19 7-21 21-17.
