A huge disappointment for Indian shooters as Commonwealth Games Chief Louise Martin said that shooting will not be part of the 2022 Commonwealth Games which will be held in Birmingham despite a India's threat to boycott the entire event in protest. According to CWG Chief the decision to exclude shooting from the programme for the first time since 1974 had come down to a question of logistics. For India shooting has been a medal winning sport with Indian shooters winning 16 of the country’s 66 medals, including seven golds in Commonwealth Games 2018.
