PSV Eindhoven tightened their grip on second place in the Dutch redivisie standings on Saturday, following a 1-0 win over Groningen at the Philips Stadion. Eran Zahavi got the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute after a lengthy VAR review judged Groningen defender Wessel Dammers had handled the ball on the edge of his area. VAR wasn't always on PSV's side though - they had the ball in the net on three other occasions, but all were ruled out - two of them tight offside decisions. PSV pocketed the points though and now have 64 from 30 games, three more than AZ, who face a daunting trip to champions-elect Ajax.
