Football News: We can't be satisfied with 2-0 win over Liechtenstein Flick ahead of Armenia

Germany head coach Hans-Dieter Flick admitted on Saturday that although Thursday's modest 2-0 World Cup qualification win in Liechtenstein was unsatisfactory, he saw enough in his first game in charge to be upbeat about the national team's future. Following their shock home defeat against North Macedonia back in March under Joachim Low, Germany lie second in the Group J standings on nine ponts from four games, a point behind surprise packages Armenia, who visit the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Stuttgart on Sunday. "We have to stand together as a team, we have to act as a team on the pitch as well," Flick said. "Of course what counts is that we are there to play good football, and of course we want to see these things against Armenia. This is a team that leads the table, leads the group, and of course we want to try to overtake them." "I have a squad that has real quality and I see a lot of things that are very, very positive. And at the end of the day, it's all about continuing on the path we've started on. So I'm looking forward to everything that's still to come." The four-time World Cup winners have won all three of their previous encounters with Armenia, scoring 15 goals in the process, but the last time they met was back in 2014 and despite being ranked 88 by FIFA, Joaquin Caparros' side are likely to provide some stiff opposition. Armenia lost their 100 per cent record in qualification on Thursday when they were held to a goalless draw by North Macedonia in Skopje. Both sides are in action again on Wednesday, with Germany travelling to Iceland and Armenia playing host to Liechtenstein.
