According to reports, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani is convinced that his acquisition proposal for Manchester United would be accepted.
Last November, the Glazer family announced that they were looking into strategic options for the club, including a possible sale. Sheikh Jassim of Qatar and Sir Jim Ratcliffe of INEOS have emerged as the frontrunners to clinch a purchase of the 20-time English champions.
Sheikh Jassim and Ratcliffe allegedly had £5 billion bids rejected in the second round of proposals, with the Glazers holding out for their £6 billion valuation.
The Doha-born investor remains committed to purchasing the club and plans to make a third offer by the end of April.
However, it is believed that Man United co-owners Joel Glazer and Avram Glazer are open to adopting minority stakes.
Their position differs from that of their siblings, Kevin, Edward, Bryan, and Darcie, who are said to be pushing for a full sale.
The Carlyle Group, a US-based investment firm, is apparently interested in acquiring a minority part, and their offer is being considered by the Raine Group, which is overseeing the bidding process for the Glazers' half.
Ares Management and Elliot Investment Management are also interested in purchasing a modest part in the club, allowing the Glazers to continue at Old Trafford.
Despite the current events, Sheikh Jassim is convinced that his proposal will be successful, according to The Guardian.
Sheikh Jassim's bid is being made through his Nine Two Foundation, and he is only interested in completing a full acquisition of the club.
The Qatari banker has previously declared that his proposal is completely debt-free, which may give him an advantage over Ratcliffe, who has stated that he is unwilling to wipe Man United's debt.
Thomas Zilliacus, a Finnish billionaire, has announced that he will not participate in a third round of bidding, but he remains interested in purchasing the club.
Meanwhile, on the pitch, Manchester United are preparing for the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final match against Sevilla.
After surrendering a two-goal lead in the first leg at Old Trafford, the tie is still very much in play ahead of Thursday's encounter at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
