Bayern Munich are apparently prepared to test Tottenham Hotspur's anxiety this summer with a 'persuasive' offer for star striker Harry Kane.
The England captain's contract expires at the end of next season, leaving him with an uncertain future in North London.
Kane has been extensively connected with a move to Manchester United, who are looking for a new center-forward ahead of the 2023-24 season after failing to seal a move to Manchester City in the summer of 2021.
Bayern Munich has also been linked with an interest as they continue their quest for a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who joined Barcelona last summer.
This season, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has excelled as their first-choice centre striker, scoring 17 goals in 28 appearances across all competitions, but it is expected that Bayern will intensify their search for a replacement No.9 this summer.
According to the Independent, Bayern Munich believe they can make a compelling argument for Kane to join them at the Allianz Arena this summer.
Although Kane is considered to prefer staying in England and attempting to break Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League goal scoring record, the article adds that the perennial Bundesliga champions are not discouraged from pursuing a deal for the 29-year-old.
Kane is thought to be dissatisfied with Tottenham's lack of progress after the club parted ways with head coach Antonio Conte last month. Tottenham currently sit fifth in the Premier League table, three points behind fourth-placed Manchester United, who have a game in hand.
Kane's future in North London will most likely be determined by the club's next manager, however chairman Daniel Levy is determined to keep the striker and is opposed to selling him to a Premier League competitor.
However, as Kane's contract expires, Levy's grip over the striker's future dwindles, and Tottenham faces the potential of either losing their star striker for free in the summer of 2024 or being forced to negotiate a transfer.
Bayern Munich, who can almost certainly promise regular Champions League action and domestic trophies, are keeping an eye on Kane's status with the intention of testing the waters with a summer move.
According to a recent rumour, Bayern Munich's chances of signing Kane have improved following the appointment of former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, who is eager to improve his first-team roster with big-money summer signings.
Kane is both Tottenham's and England's all-time leading scorer, with 273 goals in 427 games for Spurs and 55 strikes in 82 international appearances for the Three Lions.
Bayern have also been linked with Napoli's leading scorer Victor Osimhen, who has had a standout season for the Serie A champions-elect this season, netting 25 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions.
