Football: Juventus beat Chievo 3-0 in the Italian Serie A

Juventus restored their nine-point lead over Napoli at the top of the Italian Serie A standings by beating visitors Chievo 3-0. Douglas Costa broke the deadlock in the 13th minute with a fine long-range strike and Emre Can double the lead on the stroke of half-time. Cristiano Ronaldo squandered a chance to make it 3-0 - and reclaim sole possession of top spot in the Serie A scoring charts - when his 53rd-minute penalty was saved by Chievo goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino. But the visitors would concede a third goal half-an-hour later, with defender Daniele Rugani heading in a free kick from Federico Bernardeschi.
