Football: Australia beat Uzbekistan 4-2 on penalties to enter quarter-finals

Defending champions Australia made it through to the 2019 AFC Asian Cup quarter-finals after beating Uzbekistan 4-2 on penalties. In a match with few clear chances, it was nil-nil after extra time in Al Ain. In the penalty shootout, Apostolis Giannou coolly scored to give Australia a 3-2 edge. Socceroos goalkeeper Matthew Ryan then stopped Marat Bikmaev's shot - and Matthew Leckie followed that with the finishing blow.
