Cycling: Van der Poel and Betsema ensure double for Dutch at World Cup cyclo-cross

There were home wins for Dutch riders Mathieu Van der Poel and Denise Betsema as the Cyclo-Cross World Cup came to Hulst in the Netherlands on Sunday. Van der Poel emphatically took his eighth win of the season, beating Belgium's Wout van Aert and Britain's Tom Pidcock into the minor podium places. Van Aert stays on top of the World Cup standings and first or second place in the final round in Overrijse in three weeks will give him the title. Betsema defeated World Cup leader Lucina Brand by one minute and two seconds in the women's race, with world champion Ceylin Del Carmen Alvarado taking third. Brand's second place however, was enough for her to clinch overall victory in the series.
